Jena Bishop with Thug Muay Thai
“‘Jiu Jitsu reigns supreme tonight, but it was really the striking that was impressive as well.'”
Jena and I met a little over a year ago as she was making the transition from jiu jitsu to MMA. Professor Johnny Faria had me coaching striking for his competition team at Alliance HQ and Jena came to every single class. I had moved to coaching full time at 10th Planet Oceanside and that didn’t stop her from making the drive twice a week to work privates with me and drilling in our ThugThai classes.
As a coach I feel fortunate to have a lot of great students, it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to become an elite MMA fighter rather than being 1 or 2 dimensional and only a certain few ever make that commitment. You are truly becoming just that.
Thank you Jena and Tyler for choosing to work with me and giving me the opportunity to calibrate the sights. Thank you 10th Planet Oceanside pirates for the solid drilling in classes and sparring, especially Lolo, but everyone included not limited to Josh, Dru, Eli, Chris, Colin, Maia, Alexis, Wyatt.” – AJ Matthews
